Transformative Ultra-Wear-Resistant Sliding Material MSM
Description
MSM's specialized wear-resistant sliding material outperforms polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) by an impressive margin—its service life is over 40 times longer than that of PTFE! This groundbreaking innovation marks another transformative leap in structural sliding materials. The technology has already earned an invention patent in Europe (No.: EP 1523598B1) and is currently under patent application in China. Testing conducted by the Railway Research Institute of China's Ministry of Railways demonstrated that MSM significantly exceeds the technical requirements for sliding materials used in both pot bearings and spherical bearings on China's Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway bridges, which operate at speeds up to 350 km/h—and as a result, MSM has received high praise!
Performance Features
◆ It can withstand a load twice that of PTFE, significantly reducing the size of the bearing and saving substantial amounts of raw materials—resulting in both economic and social benefits!
◆ Completely overturns design theory: Its service life is 40 times longer than PTFE, allowing designers to eliminate the need to reserve space for jacks when replacing bearings—meaning it requires no replacement whatsoever over its lifetime (maintenance-free). As a result, textbooks will need to be revised!
◆ Operates at temperatures up to 70°C (PTFE: 48°C; load-bearing capacity drops sharply above 30°C).
◆ At extremely low temperatures as low as -50°C, the coefficient of friction remains below 3%, whereas PTFE becomes unusable below -35°C.
◆ It does not age, and its service life typically exceeds that of the structure itself.
◆ Yield strength: 200 N/mm².
◆ The German National Technical Approval Document (Z-16,4-436) states: Spherical bearings made with MSM® sliding material are particularly well-suited for
1) Soft structures with frequent, large displacements and significant rotational angles (such as long-span cable-stayed and suspension bridges, etc.).
2) High-speed railway bridge bearings with high movement rates and significant acceleration (emergency braking).
◆ The maximum allowable load reaches up to 20,000 tons (ETA 06/0131), capturing a 100% share of the German spherical bearing market.
◆ Environmental Protection: Free from environmentally harmful fluorine and chlorine.
