Traditional Grid-Type Modular Expansion Joint


Description

◆ Composed of components such as side beams, middle beams, support beams, rubber seals, sliding springs, sliding supports, and control springs, this is a traditional-type expansion joint device.

◆ Displacement Control System: Implemented using polyurethane-controlled springs, this system accommodates structural deformation, balances the forces between beams, ensures uniform spacing of the middle beams, and effectively absorbs vehicle impact loads.

◆ Support System: Provides elastic and sliding support along the movement direction of the expansion device. The pre-compression of the sliding springs prevents displacement of the supporting elements, compensating for manufacturing tolerances. Additionally, it accommodates height differences between the end girders. The design of the sliding supports allows them to absorb the combined inclination of the supporting beams, thereby reducing torsional stiffness.

 

Performance Features

◆ Exhibits a certain amount of lateral and vertical displacement.

◆ Suitable for bridge projects with expansion joints no greater than 640 mm (special design required for joints exceeding 640 mm).

Defect:

◆ Bridges that are not suitable for applications involving high live-load speeds, significant lateral and vertical displacements, and large angular rotations in both plan and elevation.

◆ Once a disease occurs, major maintenance and repair work cannot be carried out.
